How SIP Panels Are Installed & Integrated Into Real Builds

Installing & Integrating SuperSIP™ Panels

Technical overview of how Supersub SIP panels are installed and integrated on site, covering panel placement, connection detailing, and structural integration from foundation to completed.

Wall Panel Installation

The primary structural and thermal envelope

Supersub wall panels serve as both the load-bearing structure and the continuous insulation layer of the building envelope, simplifying construction sequencing and reducing trade overlap.

SuperSIP™ Wall Panel Installation Process +

01
Base Plate Setup
Installation starts with levelled timber or steel base plates fixed to the foundation, with moisture and thermal protection added as required.
02
Panel Placement
Panels are lifted by hand or crane and placed directly onto base plates for fast, accurate installation.
03
Panel Connection and Structural Continuity
Vertical joints use insulated splines to create a continuous, load-bearing, airtight wall.
04
Openings and Joinery Integration
Window and door openings are CNC pre-cut, with joinery fixed directly to panel skins for accurate detailing and reduced thermal bridging.

Roof Types That Work Best With SIP Panels

Roof forms that maximise speed, waterproof simplicity, and structural clarity.

Gable Roof (Apex)

SIP panels run cleanly from eave to ridge, allowing quick installation and a well-sealed, insulated roof structure.
Most SIP-friendly

Mono Pitch Roof

SIP panels span in one direction, making the roof simple to build with clean detailing and reliable thermal performance.
Simple + Modern Architectural

Floor Panel Integration

Supersub floor panels from an insulated, rigid platform that reduces heat loss and moisture ingress, with factory-prepared panels for fast, predictable installation.
SuperSIP™ floor panels create an insulated, rigid platform for fast, predictable installation.

Internal and External Finishing

SIP panels provide flat, consistent surfaces for faster finishing. Plasterboard fixes directly to the panel skin, while externally the panels suit common NZ cladding systems including Colorsteel®, weatherboard, fibre cement, cedar, and plaster.

Internal and External Finishing Options +

Internal Finishing

Plasterboard fixes directly to the structural panel skins with consistent spacing. The flat, stable surface reduces joint stopping time and delivers superior finish quality compared to traditional timber framing that can twist or move.

External Cladding

Cladding systems fix over panels using standard NZ building techniques. Cavities and drainage planes are maintained where required by code, with flexible detailing to suit architectural intent and local building requirements.
